Question of the Day
Do you celebrate Easter? If so, how are you spending today? If not, is today different from any other Sunday for you and your family?
Happy Easter! I do celebrate Easter. Today Brian and I are going to meet my dad for brunch in about an hour. After that Brian’s mom is going to come up and we might go hiking, to the movies, etc. were not really sure what yet. Easter is probably the one holiday that makes me wish I was still a kid. I miss coloring Easter eggs, go on a Easter egg hunt, and get an Easter egg basket. It’s not the same, but I just decided that next Easter I am going to color Easter Eggs lol.
Question of the Day
If you could only indulge in one dessert for the rest of your life, which sweet treat would you choose?
This is a tough one. My first instinct was to say Creme brulee hands down, but then I thought of a brownie. They are both to die for, my two favorite desserts, yet very different. Creme brulee I could eat everyday, as I could a brownie, but with brownies I get a craving every so often and I do not know if I could live without it ever again. After much thought, this was a very hard decision and I am glad I do not actually have to choose in real life because it would break my heart, but I choose a brownie.
Question of the Day
What is the grossest thing you’ve ever found in your food?
I have been pretty lucky when it comes to food. It could be the fact that I am a bit of a psycho when it comes to food, meat especially, and dissect every inch to make sure I do not eat something “bad.” As far as I can remember, I don’t think I have ever seen a bug in my food. I think the worse I’ve gotten is a hair from someone at a food place. I consider myself lucky.
Question of the day
What is one thing you would change about your life?
I would get a bunny, duh! Okay, in all seriousness I would change my motivation. I would like to become more motivated in school and working out. School especially, I get lazy keeping up with work and studying for tests. I feel like the classes I am taking right now are extremely banal and they do not spark my interest in the least bit. I am hoping that once I get further into my education classes, they will become a bit more fun. The last thing I would change is the fact that I do not interact with anyone around my age besides Brian. It does get lonely and depressing sometimes to know I do not have a best friend, or even one, when college is the time that everyone is meeting new people, going out all the time, and just having fun. I just want one friend. I do not want to sound like a whiny bitch though, have come to terms with my situation, and its what you make out of it!
How many hours’ sleep do you need in order to be at your best, and what’s the minimum you can get on a regular basis and still be functional?
At my best, I’d say about 9 to 10 hours. And the minimum is 6 or 7 hours.
What’s your favorite sleeping position?
Sleeping on my side curled up in a ball
What was the cause of your most recent difficulty sleeping?
I’m not sure. I usually sleep really good. If I ever have a problem it’s because I have bad dreams.
When you can’t seem to drift off to sleep right away, what are some things you do to bring about sleep?
Count my breaths, that way I don’t think about anything it else.
When did you last doze off at an inappropriate time or in an inappropriate place?
The only place I really have an opportunity to sleep at is in class.
Slim and trim? Rock-hard and ripped? Lazy and loving it? What are your health and fitness goals for 2010? Do you have a plan for how to achieve them?
Slim and Trim. I have been sick so I have not worked out in a lifetime but I cannot wait to get back into it. My workout plan is to do more stretching, an ab workout, butt and thigh workout, and some pilates. I also want to start running and get serious about that. As far as eating, I want to do a mix of the special K diet, with fruits, veggies, soup, salad, and yogurt as my general meals.
Is there a country name that makes you think “adventure?”
New Zealand. And Alaska and Africa – even though they aren’t a country.
Are you close to your extended family?
Not really. I have always been more close to the family on my mom’s side. On my dad’s side, I see my uncle and grandparents about twice a year but I do not just call them up to chat or anything. I was always the closest to my grandmother, Emmy, so once she passed away I am not that close to any of my exteded family.
Thursday Thunks
1. Pants on the Ground…. sexy time?
2. Have you ever fell down the stairs?
Yes probably at least five times that I can remember within the last few years haha. The one that pops right into my head is when Morgan, Bri, and I were drinking and I went to go down the stairs and completely flew down the stairs. Falling is an understatement – I have limbs flying everywhere and the stuff that was on the side of the stairs ended up all over the floor and I landed on my head.
3. Have you ever written to a company about their product? Ever called them? Nope.
4. Your dog/cat/snake/iguana/pet skunk (or just fill in your pet’s species) goes to the vet. Ok, you take them to the vet… most pets wouldn’t go on their own. The vet tells you that your species has cancer. Do you:
- a. tell them to pull out the needle and put them to sleep on the spot
- b. take them home and let them live out their life until the end
- c. same as b. except you don’t let them get to the suffering stage
- d. go full steam ahead with cancer treatments
D is a very strong possibility to depending on how late we caught the cancer. If it was in the early stages with a good rate of beating it, then I would definitely chose D. Otherwise, I would take them home to be able to spend the rest of the time with them and let them enjoy the rest of their life without having to go through all the pain and trouble of the many treatments.
5. What is your favorite comfort food?
mac ‘n cheese or pizza (is that comfort food?)
6. If your child was put in jail for putting a gun in their spouses mouth and pulling the trigger (even though the gun wasn’t loaded), strangling them and breaking their arm… would you post bail for them?
No way, it does not matter that it is my child that behavior is completely unacceptable and unsafe for so many. They definitely need some mental care. Hopefully though, I will be a good enough parent that my child would never come close to doing anything like that.
7. If elephants had wings, how many feathers do you think they would have on each wing?
They would need at least 100,00 on each to completely cover it and lift itself up into the air.
8. Is there anything growing in your refrigerator right now?
Not in my dorm. In Brian’s? There is a strong possibility.
10. Would you donate to the Kimber Ark Building Fund and donate wood? She is about to float away after all…
My fave show!!!! IDK what I will do when the series is over. Oh yeah, watch the first four. But yes I would donate because I feel really bad for her. However, I would almost let her die and then give it and hopefully she would have an eye-opening epiphany and change the way she views herself and do things for herself.
11. If I were to send you a letter and I wanted to put a little heart sticker on the back of the envelope, what color sticker would you like it to be?
Red, of course
Giving my blog a facelift
I made this blog so I could always remember, or look back upon and smile at meaningful moments in my life from vacations, birthdays, romance, funny things that happened, etc. However, in all reality, these super special times do not happen in my everyday life. In truth, I am a boring, working college student with almost no social life and I do not have very many post-worthy things to to talk about. So I’ve come up with an idea..
I am a nerd when it comes to those surveys and quizzes. I love them, IDK why but I decided that every day I will answer a question(s) of the day whether it be silly, serious, thoughtful, romantic, or anything else. To add to this I will post interesting links I stumbled upon (since it is one of my many addictions) along with any thoughts or commentary I might have. A lot of the times I like a site, or think an article is interesting, but not enough to actually favorite it forever. I just want to make this blog more interesting for myself and years down the road I can remember my thoughts, ideas, or what what going on in the world back then.
So I will start by answering a question:
What is your soda of choice these days? Could you give it up?
My favorite soda is Diet Coke. It is usually the soda I will always choose. And I could not give it up forever. Since being in college my craving for soda, mainly Diet Coke, has increased and I have no idea why. I find it kind of odd. However, even when I was rarely drinking soda, every so often I will get a mean craving for a Diet Coke. Diet Coke is also the only beverage that I want to drink when I am hungover. My life could not be complete without it.
