Recently Bought: E.L.F. EyesLipsFace

I couple weeks ago I made two huge hauls from E.L.F. while they were having a sales.  On my first I got 10 eye shadow quads for free with any twenty dollar purchase, and the second had all their studio products 50% off.  So here is what I got:

Healthy  Glow Bronzing powder in  Warm Tan

Healthy Glow Bronzing Powder in Sun Kissed

Sun Kissed on left,  Warm Tan on right.  You can’t tell from the swatches, but both are really shimmery and I don’t think they would be good for contouring.

My lashes are like my pride and joy and I really do everything I can to make them look great everyday.  I heard rave reviews about this, and since my current curler is almost done with I got this and I can’t wait to use  it!

I bought this, not expecting the color it came in because the website named it “nicely nude” so I thought it’d be skin tone, but instead this is a very sheer, pink, french manicure color.  I put three coats on and you could still see my white tips.

I got this free gift when I referred three friends, but when I went to swatch it I think this is stale because it smelt AWFUL and was really runny no matter how much I shaked it.  I have another one of these in Lilac and it does not have this problem.

Eye Defining Brush, its actually pretty slim and I thought it’d be more dense, but I have not used it yet so I don’t know how it works.

I have no idea if this works, but I figured I would give it a try because at $1 there’s nothing to lose.

Here are the ten eye brightening quads I got free.  I have not used any yet, so I am not sure how the quality is.

I’ve been wanting this for months, but it was always sold out when I placed an order so when I found it in stock I jumped on it!

Sorry the lighting is so bad, but here are the blush swatches and from L to R: Fuchsia Fusion, Pink Passion, Meilow (?) Mauve, Gotta Glow

Now this is a repurchased product,  I’m not yet done with my first one but I cannot live without this product so I had to buy a back up and have it ready when I run out!

Eyebrow Lifter and Filler.  I’ve  used this a couple of times and I like it so far.

The 2 in 1  Conditioning Gloss are in colors  Supermodel and Love It.  I have used it once and so far I am not sure I really like these.  It’s very sheer and very sticky.

Brow kit with gel (darker brown) and a powder (lighter).

I have one gel eyeliner I love so I’d figure I would try some cream eyeliner.  I have not used them so I am not sure how well they last, but the purple came dried up so I already hate it.

So this was all so much stuff, and for so cheap too!  I can’t wait to try it all out.

Recently Bought: Wet Seal

Before I went on my no-buy I purchased a few things that have been coming in the mail over the past couple weeks.  Today I am posting my little haul from Wet Seal while they were having an additional 30% off clearance items.  Since I am a poor college student, I only really buy clothes that are on sale to begin with and if you look you can find really great items.  So here’s what I bought:

So normally I would never buy jeans online.  I have a real problem with findings jeans that fit the way I want them to so I always need to try them on in store.  However, I have ordered jeans from Wet Seal before and they fit well so I decided to try another pair, the fact that they were only $10 also didn’t hurt.

I have seen soo many shirts with the detailing that this sweatshirt has on the shoulder and I thought this would just be so cute to throw on over leggings in the winter.  This was the most expensive item I bought, which was  $14 (still a steal).

This is the only shirt I have briefly tried on, and I think it may be my favorite out of all my items.  Its a crop top with the sides hanging down and is just so so cute with shorts.  I also love the straps and back of this shirt.

These vests are huge right now, along with knitted shirts, which is what this one  is, and would be perfect with almost anything – so cute!

Recently Bought: Rock and Republic

About a month or so ago Beauty Story had a Rock and Republic sample sale on their site. Blushes were half, off plus I found another code that took $15 dollars off your order.  I only ordered one blush; however, I got that blush for about $11.70!!  Their blushes are regularly $40 so this is an amazing deal! The color I got  was X-Rated which is a red color, and I have nothing like it.  The blushes are so soft, very pigmented, and last ALL day.  Since, X-Rated is so bright, especially with my pale skin, you need to use a very light hand, or you’ll end up looking like a clown.  Since you barely need to tap your blush with the brush it will seriously last me so long.

Today is day two of my three month no-buy. I am starting a no-buy to save money. I have two separate accounts for bills and spending money so I want to start saving this money for Christmas presents and any sales on Black Friday to buy something for myself. Once black Friday comes around I will only be able to spend money for myself for items on my wishlist, if and only if, there is a sale going on (about 50% off). If not, I cannot buy the products. The list includes:

Milani/Jordana/NYX websites (or Cherry Culture)
Sleek Palettes
Charlotte Russe
Wet Seal
Go Jane

During my no-buy I can only buy necessary items such as foundation, concealer, or mascara that I run out of during the three month period. I might also make an exception for a pair of boots for winter and a pair of jeans since I did not do any back to school shopping and I think I am going to need both of these. After Black Friday, I will not be able to buy anything for myself until all my Christmas shopping is done with, and from then on I will be on a low-buy allowing myself a $5/wk spending limit that I can save up or spend at that time.

I am kind of nervous for this, yet I think come Black Friday it will be exciting to see the money I have saved up and be able to spend a little for myself. I am also hoping, now that school has started, I will be so busy between that and work that I won’t have time to worry about shopping. So anyway, this has been day one and we will see how the rest of the time goes.

Haul: Walmart

The past couple weeks I was not working, and therefore, did not get any paychecks so I was sooo broke.  I did not do any shopping for about a  month or so.  I am still on a low buy, only buying things on sale and drugstore items because my last day of nannying was yesterday on Friday and I start my other job on Monday which pays a lot less.  So anyway,  last night Brian had to go to Walmart to pick up a light since one of his headlights were out.  We were going to a party later on and since I did  not buy an outfit, I wanted to get at least a few new make up items to wear.  Majority of the things are Wet ‘n Wild or NYC, which are two of the cheapest brands.  The most expensive thing I got was $7 for the Cover Girl Lash Blast mascara.  I also paid in cash, instead of  my card, for these things which always make me feel less guilty.

Wet ‘n Wild nail polish in 206B Undercover.  I wore this on my nails last night and it is more plum and less pink than it showed on camera.  I feel like this is a perfect  fall nail color.  I believe this was a bit less than  $2, but the bottle is soo tiny too!

NYC nail polish in 248B  Manhattan.  The color is true to what is showed on camera, and I figured this would be another perfect fall color.

I saw this product on a youtube video, of new products from NYC so when I saw it at Walmart I couldn’t wait to get it.  They have palettes specifically for your eye colors, and I am a huge fan of neturals and purples so I fell in love.  This palette is great for beginniners because it labeled what color is used  for what, and a diagram of how to place eye shadows on the eye.  The compact also comes with a primer and illuminator for the eye.  I am not sure I will really use it, but I will probably try it out just to see.

NYC duo-ended eyeliner in brown and green with black.    I tried to look for a specific name, but could not find one.  I do not have any.  I liked colored eyeliner, for a pop of color without going overboard or actually using colored eyeshadow.  I have not tried this yet, so I do not know the staying power of these.

Covergirl three colored eyeshadow in Shimmering Sands.  I heard so many good things about this compact so I picked it up.  I wore it last night and love it.   The colors create a soft, subtle neutral eye with some shimmer.  The eyeshadow lasted throughout the night for me as well with no creasing, of course with help from my primer.

Wet ‘n Wild blushes in Heather Silk (Left)  and Pearlescent Pink (Right).   As you can see, the Heather Silk shattered.  While driving I had it one minute and the next I look in the bag again and it is broken to pieces!  I was so so upset, but at least it can be repressed with alcohol so I am going to do that as soon as possible.   I swatched the blushes but the  camera showed them as almost identical colors  so  I decided not to post it.  These blushes were so cheap at about $2.

Everyone in the beauty community raves about this mascara.  I picked it up a long time ago, before really getting into make up and tried it but never really liked it.  I bought it again, deciding to give it another try.  I used it last night and holy cow I am in love.  A few clumps came out and onto my lashes but other than that my lashes looked so much thicker and longer.  This could become my new Holy Grail mascara.

Haul Turned to A Review: Spell Cosmetics

After hearing great things about Spell Cosmetics on a youtube video I decided to check them out.   I placed an order for two blushes (w/ BOGOF)  and 6 eye shadows (w/ B3G3F) and it came out to be around thirty dollars with shipping.  On the website it said if you order ___ you get ___ lipstick free.  So with some of the eye shadows and a blush,  I was supposed to get three or four lipsticks free along with my order.   I placed my order from them around July 27th.  I got an email with the receipt, but no shipping confirmation a few days later.  I emailed them about five days later asking the status of my order and got not response.  It was annoying not knowing whether my item had been shipped, was still in the warehouse, or anything else.   A few days  later it arrived in the mail, but there was no invoice which is very odd.  Also, there was no free lipsticks that I was supposed to have.  While this is not the biggest deal in the world,  I was already annoyed with the process and this was just the icing on the cake.  I get home and open the package and my blush didn’t even have a cover on it, so it looked like it came used which was gross.  I swatched the blush and two eye shadows and was not impressed with the products at all so I emailed them again stating I wanted to return the items and get a refund.  Guess what, no response.  I again emailed them two or so days ago stating I got no response from my first two emails and I needed to know where to send my items to ensure the refund.  Still no fricken email.  This is the worst company I have ordered from and will never order from them again and would never recommend them to anyone.  I am so annoyed and disappointed that a company is okay with treating customers like this.  Ugh I am so angry even thinking about it, such a rip off.

Recently Bought: Wet Seal

So classes start again in a few weeks and I realized that I literally have no clothes for school.  I have been so broke all summer and for my job I just wear Soffee shorts so I did not do any clothes shopping at all this summer.  I have been so stressed out because I have no clothes to wear and no money to buy clothes.  However, Wet Seal was having a sale for $2.50 basic tees and tanks  a few weeks ago.  While Wet Seal is not my favorite place, I was desperate for at least a few t-shirts, and at 2.50 each, I think I can afford that.  So here are a few things I got:

I also got a pair of red shorts for about ten dollars or something.  I was a bit nervous about getting them, but they are actually very cute!
