Recently Bought: E.L.F. EyesLipsFace

I couple weeks ago I made two huge hauls from E.L.F. while they were having a sales.  On my first I got 10 eye shadow quads for free with any twenty dollar purchase, and the second had all their studio products 50% off.  So here is what I got:

Healthy  Glow Bronzing powder in  Warm Tan

Healthy Glow Bronzing Powder in Sun Kissed

Sun Kissed on left,  Warm Tan on right.  You can’t tell from the swatches, but both are really shimmery and I don’t think they would be good for contouring.

My lashes are like my pride and joy and I really do everything I can to make them look great everyday.  I heard rave reviews about this, and since my current curler is almost done with I got this and I can’t wait to use  it!

I bought this, not expecting the color it came in because the website named it “nicely nude” so I thought it’d be skin tone, but instead this is a very sheer, pink, french manicure color.  I put three coats on and you could still see my white tips.

I got this free gift when I referred three friends, but when I went to swatch it I think this is stale because it smelt AWFUL and was really runny no matter how much I shaked it.  I have another one of these in Lilac and it does not have this problem.

Eye Defining Brush, its actually pretty slim and I thought it’d be more dense, but I have not used it yet so I don’t know how it works.

I have no idea if this works, but I figured I would give it a try because at $1 there’s nothing to lose.

Here are the ten eye brightening quads I got free.  I have not used any yet, so I am not sure how the quality is.

I’ve been wanting this for months, but it was always sold out when I placed an order so when I found it in stock I jumped on it!

Sorry the lighting is so bad, but here are the blush swatches and from L to R: Fuchsia Fusion, Pink Passion, Meilow (?) Mauve, Gotta Glow

Now this is a repurchased product,  I’m not yet done with my first one but I cannot live without this product so I had to buy a back up and have it ready when I run out!

Eyebrow Lifter and Filler.  I’ve  used this a couple of times and I like it so far.

The 2 in 1  Conditioning Gloss are in colors  Supermodel and Love It.  I have used it once and so far I am not sure I really like these.  It’s very sheer and very sticky.

Brow kit with gel (darker brown) and a powder (lighter).

I have one gel eyeliner I love so I’d figure I would try some cream eyeliner.  I have not used them so I am not sure how well they last, but the purple came dried up so I already hate it.

So this was all so much stuff, and for so cheap too!  I can’t wait to try it all out.

Recently Bought: Rock and Republic

About a month or so ago Beauty Story had a Rock and Republic sample sale on their site. Blushes were half, off plus I found another code that took $15 dollars off your order.  I only ordered one blush; however, I got that blush for about $11.70!!  Their blushes are regularly $40 so this is an amazing deal! The color I got  was X-Rated which is a red color, and I have nothing like it.  The blushes are so soft, very pigmented, and last ALL day.  Since, X-Rated is so bright, especially with my pale skin, you need to use a very light hand, or you’ll end up looking like a clown.  Since you barely need to tap your blush with the brush it will seriously last me so long.

Today is day two of my three month no-buy. I am starting a no-buy to save money. I have two separate accounts for bills and spending money so I want to start saving this money for Christmas presents and any sales on Black Friday to buy something for myself. Once black Friday comes around I will only be able to spend money for myself for items on my wishlist, if and only if, there is a sale going on (about 50% off). If not, I cannot buy the products. The list includes:

Milani/Jordana/NYX websites (or Cherry Culture)
Sleek Palettes
Charlotte Russe
Wet Seal
Go Jane

During my no-buy I can only buy necessary items such as foundation, concealer, or mascara that I run out of during the three month period. I might also make an exception for a pair of boots for winter and a pair of jeans since I did not do any back to school shopping and I think I am going to need both of these. After Black Friday, I will not be able to buy anything for myself until all my Christmas shopping is done with, and from then on I will be on a low-buy allowing myself a $5/wk spending limit that I can save up or spend at that time.

I am kind of nervous for this, yet I think come Black Friday it will be exciting to see the money I have saved up and be able to spend a little for myself. I am also hoping, now that school has started, I will be so busy between that and work that I won’t have time to worry about shopping. So anyway, this has been day one and we will see how the rest of the time goes.

Haul: Walmart

The past couple weeks I was not working, and therefore, did not get any paychecks so I was sooo broke.  I did not do any shopping for about a  month or so.  I am still on a low buy, only buying things on sale and drugstore items because my last day of nannying was yesterday on Friday and I start my other job on Monday which pays a lot less.  So anyway,  last night Brian had to go to Walmart to pick up a light since one of his headlights were out.  We were going to a party later on and since I did  not buy an outfit, I wanted to get at least a few new make up items to wear.  Majority of the things are Wet ‘n Wild or NYC, which are two of the cheapest brands.  The most expensive thing I got was $7 for the Cover Girl Lash Blast mascara.  I also paid in cash, instead of  my card, for these things which always make me feel less guilty.

Wet ‘n Wild nail polish in 206B Undercover.  I wore this on my nails last night and it is more plum and less pink than it showed on camera.  I feel like this is a perfect  fall nail color.  I believe this was a bit less than  $2, but the bottle is soo tiny too!

NYC nail polish in 248B  Manhattan.  The color is true to what is showed on camera, and I figured this would be another perfect fall color.

I saw this product on a youtube video, of new products from NYC so when I saw it at Walmart I couldn’t wait to get it.  They have palettes specifically for your eye colors, and I am a huge fan of neturals and purples so I fell in love.  This palette is great for beginniners because it labeled what color is used  for what, and a diagram of how to place eye shadows on the eye.  The compact also comes with a primer and illuminator for the eye.  I am not sure I will really use it, but I will probably try it out just to see.

NYC duo-ended eyeliner in brown and green with black.    I tried to look for a specific name, but could not find one.  I do not have any.  I liked colored eyeliner, for a pop of color without going overboard or actually using colored eyeshadow.  I have not tried this yet, so I do not know the staying power of these.

Covergirl three colored eyeshadow in Shimmering Sands.  I heard so many good things about this compact so I picked it up.  I wore it last night and love it.   The colors create a soft, subtle neutral eye with some shimmer.  The eyeshadow lasted throughout the night for me as well with no creasing, of course with help from my primer.

Wet ‘n Wild blushes in Heather Silk (Left)  and Pearlescent Pink (Right).   As you can see, the Heather Silk shattered.  While driving I had it one minute and the next I look in the bag again and it is broken to pieces!  I was so so upset, but at least it can be repressed with alcohol so I am going to do that as soon as possible.   I swatched the blushes but the  camera showed them as almost identical colors  so  I decided not to post it.  These blushes were so cheap at about $2.

Everyone in the beauty community raves about this mascara.  I picked it up a long time ago, before really getting into make up and tried it but never really liked it.  I bought it again, deciding to give it another try.  I used it last night and holy cow I am in love.  A few clumps came out and onto my lashes but other than that my lashes looked so much thicker and longer.  This could become my new Holy Grail mascara.

Haul Turned to A Review: Spell Cosmetics

After hearing great things about Spell Cosmetics on a youtube video I decided to check them out.   I placed an order for two blushes (w/ BOGOF)  and 6 eye shadows (w/ B3G3F) and it came out to be around thirty dollars with shipping.  On the website it said if you order ___ you get ___ lipstick free.  So with some of the eye shadows and a blush,  I was supposed to get three or four lipsticks free along with my order.   I placed my order from them around July 27th.  I got an email with the receipt, but no shipping confirmation a few days later.  I emailed them about five days later asking the status of my order and got not response.  It was annoying not knowing whether my item had been shipped, was still in the warehouse, or anything else.   A few days  later it arrived in the mail, but there was no invoice which is very odd.  Also, there was no free lipsticks that I was supposed to have.  While this is not the biggest deal in the world,  I was already annoyed with the process and this was just the icing on the cake.  I get home and open the package and my blush didn’t even have a cover on it, so it looked like it came used which was gross.  I swatched the blush and two eye shadows and was not impressed with the products at all so I emailed them again stating I wanted to return the items and get a refund.  Guess what, no response.  I again emailed them two or so days ago stating I got no response from my first two emails and I needed to know where to send my items to ensure the refund.  Still no fricken email.  This is the worst company I have ordered from and will never order from them again and would never recommend them to anyone.  I am so annoyed and disappointed that a company is okay with treating customers like this.  Ugh I am so angry even thinking about it, such a rip off.

Recently Bought: Drugstore

Here is a collective haul of things I’ve bought from Rite Aid and Walmart over the past month.

Cover Girl Aqua Smoothers Foundation.  I meant to pick up their tinted moisturizer and just thought they changed the bottle and it wasn’t until I got home that I noticed the mistake.  So far I have worn it twice and I am happy with it.  I’ll take closer note and do a review on it after I have worn it more.

I have heard so many good things about this foundation so I decided to pick it up.  I wore it once and it did not match my skin perfectly so I am going to pick up a shade lighter to mix it with.

I picked up Maybelline’s Great Lash Mascara in Clear to hold my eyebrows in place.  I used it today and I really liked it.  It held them in place well without making them too hard or look like I had clear gel on them.  I would definitely recommend this product.

I know how bad it is to comb your hair wet with a normal brush so I bought this to use to comb my hair wet.  My hair is so so damaged right now but I am getting a haircut in a week and want to do anything to tr to prevent further damage as much as possible.  I have not used this yet and am honestly a bit hesitant to because I have used a wide tooth comb in the past and I could not get it through my hair.  So we’ll see how this goes.

Maybelline Mineral Power Concealer and Pressed Powder.  I have not used either of these yet but I have heard great things about both!

NYC Sunny Bronzer.  I recently had a huge upset about one of my bronzers (I will talk about this in another post) and I’ve wanted this for a while so I bought this and cannot wait to use it.  It is the perfect color for my skin right now too.

Over the past couple months I have not used any styling product in my hair and my hair in turn is so soft, it never feels greasy or weighed down due to products  and I’ve been loving it.  However, I do get frizz and  ocassionally so I decided to pick this up to help it out.  I am not going to be using it daily, just every once in a while

L’oreal quad in Suttle Berries.  I saw this in a YouTube video I believe and I loved the look so I had to get this quad!  I have not used it yet, but will do a post about it once I do.  The colors also seem extremely pigmented as well

Maybelline Falsies Mascara.  I have heard mixed reviews on this mascara and I really wanted to try it.  I have not tried it yet, but will also probably do a review once I do.

NYC waterproof eyeliner in Moody Blue and Smoky Purple.  The swatches on my hand seem to have great staying power.  I am excited to try these out for a subtle pop of color since I try to stick to browns and neutrals on the eye .

Hard Candy Baked Blush in Honeymoon.  I have only swatched it, but from the swatch I am already in love!  It is the perfect highlight color and I will probably use this everyday!

NYC Blushable Creme Sticks in the colors (L to R) Big Apple Blush, Berry New Yorker, Plaza Pink, Mauvin Up Town.  I don’t want to talk too much about these because I am going to do a review on them later.

So that was everything I’ve gotten over the past month.  I have a  couple things coming in the mail and then I am on a no-buy until I start school again.  I am so excited about one item coming in particular, but I won’t say what until it arrives.  I can’t wait to play with everything and post review’s FOTD’s and what not.

Recently Bought: Ebay

Over the past couple months I have rediscovered how great Ebay is and the magical things you can find on there!  So whenever buying make up that is not drugstore, I will look on  ebay and see if I can get a better deal on it than if I bought it elsewhere and I have had some great luck!

Hoola by Benefit bronzer.  This was definitely my best purchase thus far!  In stores this sells for $28  and on ebay I bought this for $12, including shipping.  I was just so thrilled about this!  Currently, it is the same shade as my skin tone so I haven’t really used it, but I  think it will be the perfect shade for winter since I will definitely lose my tan!

I have been wanting these since every beauty guru has been raving non-stop about these, so I was excited when they finally came (I had to wait about two weeks)!! I got the colors (left to right of the swatches) in iced mocha, yogurt, and cottage cheese.  So far I have used both the iced mocha and yogurt and I really like them so far!

I read about this, L’oreal Lash Boosting Serum, on College Fashion and I had heard that it worked.  Since I am almost obsessed with my lashes and having them look as long and full as possible I had to get this!  In drugstores it is about $14 alone, I think, or $21 with a mascara.  On ebay I got this for $8.  I have been using this for about two weeks and so far I have noticed my lashes looking thicker, especially on my lower lash line, and possibly even a bit longer too!  I definitely recommend this product to everyone!  I am thinking about  buying an extra right now so I’ll have a back up  when I run out.

I have been eyeing Coastal Scents’ 88 warm palette for months now, and finally decided to buy it.  It is $25 on Coastal Scents’ website and I got it for $22 dollars on ebay.  It was only a few dollars cheaper, yet I think it would still be totally worth it to buy it full price!  The shadows are so pigmented, it has really great colors, and they blend really well!  Now I can’t wait to  get my hands on the 88 metal mania palette.

I just got this product yesterday and I am wearing it today.  This is the NYX  10 color Palette in Romance.  The colors are very pigmented and blend really well.  I am very happy with this product and I can’t wait to the the Catwalk, Champagne and Caviar, and Versus palettes also!
