Weeds.

Brian and I cancelled cable when we moved in together  and have been ordering tv shows from Netflix.  Currently we’ve been watching Weeds and I loooove it!  We just finished season two and I cannot get enough of this show! Everyone go watch it!

Lazy Sundays.

While I feel like everyone else spends Sundays running errands, Brian and I almost always just hang out and do nothing on Sundays.  We try to plan that.  As the last day of the weekend, I do not like to spend my day doing busy work that I don’t enjoy.  This lazy Sunday is especially important to me today because classes start again on Monday which is bitter sweet to me.  One on hand, I have been getting a little bored, yet I know that classes, stress, tests, papers, and studying go hand-in-hand.  However, I will not think about that today, instead I will keep laying around in my pajamas.

Wake ‘n go.

This morning was my first day back to work after two leisurely weeks off.   However, my morning was made a lot easier.  Since I was my hair every other day, I already got to sleep in a bit.  So I rolled out of bed this morning, about to reach for my dry shampoo and brush to do some damage control when I look in the mirror.  My hair is nearly perfect.  I run my fingers through it to polish it off a bit and I am ready to go!  So easy, and a pleasant surprise on a dreadful morning.

Class getting cancelled.

It is even better when they you wake up that morning, mentally ready to go to class, check your email and receive the great news.  Or if it is your only class that day.  Both happened to me today and it was awesome.  So I took the time to make note-cards for the quiz I have this Friday and did part of the homework.  I also watched Desperate Housewives and Greek.  Yes, it was a great day.

Good Friday

Today is Good Friday, and while I am not religious or anything, I got this  post idea from College Candy I decided I would post my ideal friday:

Wake up, hang out and surf the internet a bit (catching up on google reader and twitter), and relax.  Then go for a jog, come back and just relax and start working on the two papers I have due.  Find out my recitation is canceled and I do not have to go to work!  Then I celebrate by drinking. 🙂

Running.

Brian and I have been trying to get out and run more.  However, with the weather, being busy, and Brian having a cold we definitely have been slacking to put it mildly.  Today we went for a run, 2 miles, and I actually ran the whole thing, well jogged.  I felt great!  It is probably the 4th time we’ve been running, and the other three I have had  to stop half way and walk for two mins or so because my lungs are killing me.  As much as I would like to blame it on the altitude, it is honestly me just being out of shape.  It felt really good to do the whole thing this time without having to stop and walk for a minute.  I did three things differently this time:

  1. I chugged a water bottle before running (usually I will take one with me and drink it as needed) and then a bottle afterward.
  2. I always bring my ipod, but the other times I have been so focused on how shitty the running is that I don’t really listen to the music.  However, this time I really listened to it and got into it which helped get my mind off of how tired I was.
  3. I stumbled across this article the other day on how to breath while running.  I usually take a bunch of short breaths, but this time I  did what they suggested and took more deep breaths from my diaphragm and tried using the 3:2 ratio.

I’m not sure if any helped, but to me they seemed to and I am going to keep on using those techniques.  I just can’t wait to run tomorrow and eventually see improvement in my time, distance, and body!

Getting off work early.

Even if it is only a half hour, getting off of work early today made my day.  Especially since on  Tuesdays and Thursdays I am going from 6A to about 7P, it makes for a long day.

Short, sweet, and to the point
